About David Berkower, DO

As a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, Dr. David Berkower helps his patients restore maximum health and quality of life. At Berkower Pain and Spine Rehabilitation, he uses nonsurgical treatments—including physical rehabilitation, injections, and medical management—to help people in Pembroke Pines, Florida who have chronic or acute pain.

Dr. Berkower is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation with a subspecialty certification in pain medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree at Wayne State University in Detroit and his degree in osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his residency training at Wayne State University, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Berkower completed his pain medicine fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Berkower has been in private practice since 2004 and is active in teaching. He serves as an assistant professor of rehabilitation medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Berkower has also published papers on spine-related topics in the American Journal of Pain Medicine and the journal Spine.
